July 4, 2009 - Miland (Italy)
In Miland. Buffet dinner at the La Scala before the performace of the Verdi opera "Aida". After the show, dessert (sweets) buffet.
Regarding the opera, the singers were unfortunately below the standard expected both for the grandeur of the opera and the reputation of the theatre.
It made a huge difference from the first time I came to the Scala!

June 8-14, 2009 - Oloron (France)
Through my friends Elsa and Christian, I was invited by the France-Portugal association
to take part in the cultural festivities held in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, France, in honour of the great Portuguese poet Camões.
Though I’m not an expert on this remarkable Renaissance poet, I’ve a passion for his works and it was this very feeling that I was able to pass on to the audience attending my conference.

February 8, 2009 - Addis Abeba (Ethiopia)
Addis Abeba, the capital city of Ethiopia, is a big city also with the status of a state.
Due to its historical, diplomatic and political significance, Addis Abeba is home to the African Union and therefore often referred to as the political capital of Africa.
Its name means “new flower” in Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia (the second most-spoken Semitic language in the world after Arabic).
