KIDS' PLAYS AND PLAY SCRIPTS

All my kids’ plays are written for readers’ enjoyment and also to be performed by actors before an audience of children, young adults and families. They are ideal for a cast of children with language and memory skills or for a mix of adults and children, for fun and entertaining.

But my kids’ plays are written not only as a reader’s entertainment or a theatrical performance, they may as well be used for reading in a classroom or for after-school programs: scripts are held by the readers; lines don’t need being memorized. The stage in this particular could be the front of a classroom; an actual stage isn’t needed. The focus is on reading the text with expressive voices and gestures. Children love it!

And my own experience has shown me that children and juveniles with no deep interest in books and who struggle with reading gain confidence and get involved in reading as they practise and master simple theatre scripts.

With these experiences in mind, any of my plays is also available as script aiming to help teachers and students stage it if they so wish. Please send me a message to that purpose.

A royalty is required of both amateur and professional productions any time all or part of a play is performed in front of any size audience, whether or not admission is charged. This includes audience-attended school performances. If no audience of any size watches your play, no royalty is due.

Payment of a royalty fee/performance rights means that you have permission to use and perform the writer/playwright’s property. The amateur performance royalty fees are listed on the column on the right, under the respective play. I know money is tight, so my prices are set having in mind these types of groups, and for every 20 play books or play scripts you purchase, you get 1 FREE!

Professional performances will receive a Professional Royalty quote.

Royalty payments are due one week prior to your first performance, at which time authorization for production is granted. Anyone found in violation of this may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
