This CD-Rom tells the same stories as the book but we used the wide possibilities offered by present-day multimedia to include other features.

When writing these stories for children Dulce Rodrigues wanted to leave to posterity the car adventure lived by her pet dog Barry the first time he travelled to Belgium. Barry had been born in Portugal but was being taken that day to live with his family in Belgium. As the author says: "This CD-Rom also tells the tender love story of Barry's parents and grandmother; the extraordinary story of a wild greenfinch; that of a dog who loved figs... In a word, it is an entertaining account of real events with some of my pets."

What the author also tells about the "A Aventura do Barry": "The idea of these stories came to my mind one day at Christmas time; it is the accomplishment of my great affection for animals... and for CHILDREN. I took an enormous pleasure in writting these stories and I sincerely hope you will as well enjoy reading them. I wrote them in a spontaneous as well as amusing speech."

"(...) O Barry tinha reparado que a coleira não estava muito apertada, decidiu pois puxar pela trela com toda a força e... ei-lo livre de novo!

O Eduardo e o Gustavo - os seus jovens donos - correram atás dele. Mas o Barry corria depressa e, de repente, no fim desse caminho de terra batida, era de novo a estrada. Não hesitou, e atravessou, apesar do enorme movimento de carros e camiões!

Era preciso castigar os seus donos por lhe terem posto uma trela. Eles deviam aperceber-se de que o iam perder, para compreenderem a que ponto gostavam do seu cão e lhe fizessem a promessa de que nunca mais o prenderiam com uma trela!

Infelizmente, era ele, Barry, que acabava de perder os seus donos. Já não os via!

Era preciso fazer qualquer coisa, voltar para trás, ir ter com eles o mais depressa possível!

Foi o que o Barry fez, mas em vão: eles já lá não estavam. Tinham-se ido embora! E sem ele! (...)"
